VEAP Food & Fund Drive

Jesus said “I am the Bread of Life” because it communicates how necessary He is…He is as life-giving as the food we eat! Just as He served the world by giving of Himself to “feed” our spiritual needs, the St. Peter’s family would like to feed the needs of people with food insecurity in our community.

To do that, and in honor of the Lenten season beginning on Ash Wednesday, we hope to collect 40 donated items and $40 each week leading up to Easter Sunday! All donations will go directly to VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People)who serve the Edina, South Minneapolis, Richfield, Bloomington communities.

Join in the joy of serving through our goal donation items:

· Wednesday, March 20 - Sunday, March 24: Pampers for the Passion (diapers, wipes, baby formula)

· Wednesday, March 27 - Sunday, March 31: Legumes for Lent (beans & bean based products)

· Wednesday, April 3 - Sunday, April 7: Soap for Sunday (bars of soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, etc.)

· Wednesday, April 10 - Sunday, April 14: Protein for Passover (canned or bagged chicken or tuna, protein bars, etc.)

· Wednesday, April 17 - Sunday, April 21: Rice for Resurrection Sunday (rice or rice based products)

Faith Family & Friends

Faith Family & Friends

Faith, Family, and Friends takes place every fourth Sunday of the month. Families with young children are given the opportunity to step out of the sanctuary and into the Underground Room to worship in a hands-on way that encourages faith learning and growth between parent and child.

Who will be a neighbor? That’s the question we will consider in January. Who is it, exactly, that God calls us to love just as much as we love ourselves? And beyond that, once we know who our neighbor is, what do we do? How do we show that we love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves? Jesus answers the question in a beautiful story of compassion in action.

Operation: Christmas Child - Build-A-Box Workshop

We think the most wonderful time of the year is Operation: Christmas Child (OCC) season! To ensure that we are able to ship gift boxes full of God’s love to children all over the world, we need to start our work in September! Actually, our neighborhood children beat us to the punchthey’ve already raised $7.95 from cotton candy tips at our National Night Out to help cover the cost of shipping! What a great way to kick off OCC Season 2018!

Another great way is to join us on Sunday, September 23 after the worship service in The Commons where we will host a “Build-A-Box Workshop”where we will fold into shape all of the gift boxes to be used to carry Christmas gifts and the greatest Gift of all to children around the world! We hope to see you there!

For more information, contact Faith Rattei.
