Prayer Group

The prayer group comes together each weekly to simply do that:  pray.  It doesn’t matter If you’ve never prayed or are a seasoned “prayer warrior,” you are welcome to join us!

We start by reading a Psalm or two and then speak out loud our adoration, confession, thanksgiving and requests to God in Jesus’ Name.

If you can’t participate, but have a prayer request, you can share them with Faith Rattei and she will include them each week.

Advent Meals

“Advent” is all about the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event. In the Christian Church it is about the coming / second coming of the Messiah. It isn’t as much a countdown to Christmas as it is expectation of the deliverance that the Christ (=the Anointed One) when He returns to take those who believe from this world into eternity.

Join us for three complimentary meals in The Commons on Wednesday in December. This is a great way to be able to come directly from work to participate in the Advent Worship Service following the meal. However, it's ok to just come and enjoy the meal! Either way, we hope to see you there.

Advent Devotion

Advent Devotion

The birth of a certain child two thousand years ago in Bethlehem prompted a man to ask a very uncommon question in a hymn: “What Child Is This?” It was an uncommon question because it asked about the birth of a very uncommon child.

What Child Is This? The angel who announced this child’s birth on Christmas Eve answered the question this way: “a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” The hymnwriter answered it this way: “This, this is Christ the king.” They both want to make known the identity of this child.

This hymn helps us make connections that we might not otherwise make. “Joy, joy, for Christ is born, The babe, the son of Mary!”

Can’t make it? Pick up an “What Child is This?” Advent devotion book at the Welcome Center.

Trunk -n- Treat

Looking for a safer alternative to "Trick or Treating?" Then join us for a complimentary dinner, crafts, face painting and "trick or treating" from classroom door to classroom door in our school!

The name "Trunk -n- Treat" originated from this event being hosted in a parking lot. However, as our students have grown YOUNGER, we find it safer to "trick or treat" indoors...it also keeps us from canceling due to weather!

Let us know if you're planning on participating or volunteering by clicking here!

What a great way to kick off OCC Season 2018!

Another great way is to join us on Sunday, September 23 after the worship service in The Commons where we will host a “Build-A-Box Workshop”where we will fold into shape all of the gift boxes to be used to carry Christmas gifts and the greatest Gift of all to children around the world! We hope to see you there!

Bibles, Burgers and Beer

Bibles, Burgers & Beer is a time to try new beer, tasty burgers and get to know new friends and God better!  We meet at the brewery at noon to sample their flavors.  Promptly at 1:00pm, we’ll start our bible discussion at the brewery. As for the burgers, it’s a B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Burger) event. For each brewery, we have suggested two nearby burger places for you to choose from, but ultimately the choice is yours! Also, several of these breweries will have food trucks on site, so make sure to check their website for more information.

In June, we’ll be visiting Wicked Wort Brewing Co.  Some suggested restaurants that are nearby to snag your burgers from include Steve O's Bar & Grill (4900 W Broadway Ave, Crystal, MN) and Broadway Pizza (4106 Lakeland Ave N, Robbinsdale, MN 55422)

Each month, we’ll be discussing another person’s prayers recorded in the Old Testament (or “First” Testament)  We’ll be talking about whether we can be honest with God when we pray…and what the Old Testament shows us.  From the exuberant praise of Moses and Miriam to the desperate cries of Jeremiah, the First Testament is rich with heartfelt prayers to the Heavenly Father. What does that mean for us?  Let’s talk about it!
