Announcements (3-23-25)

Welcome

More of You, God is a journey of restoration through Lent. The messages and the daily journal invite you to deepen your connection with God and lessen your dependence upon self. The More of You, God prayer journal invites you on a faith journey to explore the narrative of God’s story as you consider each aspect of your life.

Pick up a free copy at the Welcome Center this morning.

Through a daily cadence of pausing, Scripture reading, discovery, and prayer, you will have an opportunity to respond each day. Every week ends with a prompt to help you more deeply notice God’s love and grace in your life. As you spend more time in the presence of God, His influence in every aspect of your life increases, bringing you closer to the fully restored relationship we will experience in heaven.

Please use the Connect Card in the seat back so we can celebrate with you or complete the Digital Connect Card to let us know if we may serve you in any way. Please come again to worship with us soon.

More of You God

You are invited to join Pastor Mark and others in searching additional Scripture and discussion. This prayer journal invites you on a faith journey to explore the narrative of God’s story as you consider each aspect of your life.

We will meet in the Discipleship Room just to the right as you leave the sanctuary. Grab some Caribou and a treat as you come into the room. We gather about 10:45am.

Joining Jesus

How to be an everyday missionary. Sound interesting? Joining Jesus on His Mission will alter the way you see your life as a follower of Jesus and take you beyond living your life for Jesus to living life with Jesus. Simple, powerful and applicable insights show you how to be on mission and recognize where Jesus is already at work in your neighborhoods, workplaces and schools. You will feel both relief and hope. You may even hear yourself say, “I can do this!” as you start responding to the everyday opportunities Jesus is placing in your path.

It all starts with the book. We have a copy for you! Pick one up today. We discussion Wednesday nights on Zoom beginning at 7:00pm. Interested? How do you participate? Grab a book. Read chapters 1-6 then join us by clicking on the video link below.

On May 13-14, you are invited to a workshop in St. Paul where we will sit down in the neighborhood of the authors and be challenged to be everyday missionaries.

Ready? Contact Pastor Mark for more information or to get the link emailed for your calendar: mshockey@stpetersedina.org

Like to use your hands?

We could use your help. We will meet Saturday morning, April 5, starting at 9:30am. We will be starting to prep the gym for painting. We will be doing some cleaning (behind the curtain). But as usual, we have a list of random projects around the building that need TLC. Some are handyman type projects, some are spot cleaning, some things that require some detailed attention. There is even some painting to be done. And windows? We have lots of windows! Supervisors and fast moving children are welcome to participate as well.

It is one of the happiest gatherings and a wonderful way to get to know others at St. Peter’s. Talk to Mark Wheeler (who did the announcements today). If you notice something that needs attention, be sure to hand or send an email to Pastor Mark who is compiling the master list: mshockey@stpetersedina.org

The Chosen: Season 5

Season 5 starts with the events of Palm Sunday, taking us up to/into Maundy Thursday. Attend a release of season 5 at theaters around town including Southdale AMC. Episodes 1 and 2 were released Thursday and are currently showing; Episodes 3-5 are due to be released on April 3; and Episodes 6-8 are due to be released on April 10.

We didn’t garner interest for a group lunch and viewing so enjoy it on your own.

Following the theatrical run, Season 5 will then be available via 'The Chosen' (free) app, and other streaming platforms. (Viewing the theatrical run helps toward funding of the final two Seasons in the series. Note that, after Season 5 has run in other streaming platforms it will then be available via 'The Chosen' app.) The Chosen' app also has behind-the-scenes and other discussions/deep-dives of episode content, as well as a 'support' link to help fund the final two Seasons.

You can catch up on Seasons 1-4 via 'The Chosen' free app. St. Peter’s also has DVD's of the first four seasons which you can check out to watch at home.

A Famly Friendly Celebration for STP KIDS

Hosanna is a word the children and adults shouted when Jesus came into Jerusalem on a Donkey on Palm Sunday. Just in time for Holy week, we will have a very active morning filled with stories and crafts. We will have some brunch snacks and the morning will wrap up with a huge Easter egg hunt.

Would you help us make the day special. Donate miniature candies we can load into plastic eggs. (or buy pre-filled eggs!) Just drop off individually wrapped candies at the Welcome Center. If you would rather donate to the activities and supplies, just mark your gift “Kids Fest” and we will invest it in sharing the incredible message of Christ’s love demonstrated throughout Holy Week. Want to join in a fun morning project? Stick around after Sunday worship on April 6 to help fill eggs with candy.

Reservations are not required but help us plan and have supplies on hand.

Thanks for Eating!

From Jenna Pitkanen, Early Childhood Director:

“A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our fundraiser at Café Zupas on March 11th! We were thrilled to see at least 20 ECEC families, 12 St. Peter’s staff members, 5 church families, many friends from Unlabeled Theatre Company, and numerous others you invited. We appreciate your support. Stay tuned for our next fundraising opportunity!”

We raised $684.38 for the gym refresh!

Ministry Support

We encourage you to join us in the excitement of generous giving to see what God is doing in our community and around the world. There is a basket near the main entryway if you would like to contribute. Check the giving options on the website by clicking the button below. Perhaps you want to support the Lord’s ministries, or give specifically to the Facility Fund or the gym fund. Wherever and however you give, you will partner with God to bless others.

Together we meet families at the intersection of faith and real life.
