What to Expect
Welcome home!
Maybe someone invited you or you just drove by and wondered what that church on France Avenue might be all about. We know meeting others for the first time can be intimidating and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at St. Peter’s a great one. Our goal is to help you take the Next Step in your walk of faith and support you along the way.
Our Service
Sunday - 9:30am
At St. Peter’s our focus is on family and our service is designed with that in mind. It begins with a welcome from our pastor, followed by our Praise Team leading the congregation in song. Lyrics for the songs are projected onto the screen so you can sign along and/or engage with worship, however you feel comfortable. We then read scripture and our youngest worshipers are invited to STP Kids while the adults hear an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus. Following the message, a hymn is typically played on the organ while the STP KIDS return to the sanctuary. We then pray as a church, share a blessing and the service ends with another song led by the Praise Team. Services typically last 45 minutes to an hour.
Kids
Young people are active and curious! So St. Peter’s provides fun, age-appropriate, Bible-based activities and teaching for our youngest disciples. We call it STP Kids. We all learn the same Biblical truth each week. During every service, kids from wiggly waddlers to 5th graders are invited to go with licensed teachers to an age-appropriate activity room located right beside the sanctuary. There they will learn about our theme for the week, do some fun activities, sing some songs, and grow in their knowledge of God. They will then return to the sanctuary to be with their family for the end of the service.

Our services are theme based to meet families at the intersection of faith & real life. The themes are explained and applied to living in the 2020's. The Biblical truth is shared each week for worshipers of all ages. The messages are based in Scripture and helpful to those who are just searching for spiritual answers or those who have been life long Christians. Our services are filled with variety around the theme of the week while maintaining a structure that includes invocation, confession of sins, confession of faith, prayer, and Biblical blessing. We follow the church year to emphasize the salvation that is ours through the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of our Savior, Jesus.

Our service includes a blend of contemporary worship and traditional hymns, led in ways that are both engaging and heartfelt and designed to help direct our hearts and minds in worship.
Services typically include one opening contemporary song following the welcome, led by the praise team. Later in the service, after the message, a traditional hymn is played on organ or piano.
We conclude our services with a final contemporary song led by the praise team, bringing the congregation together in a shared time of worship.
