Welcome

We are expecting God to do great things today! Thanks for connecting with us. If you are on campus, stop at the welcome center for a “Welcome Home” book with more details about St. Peter’s. We’d welcome you to call us your church home.

If you are online or if we can serve you in some way or you’d like to receive a weekly email link to view the message, complete the Digital Connect Card.

Sit back, listen, participate, and enjoy yourself as the love story of Jesus covers over you with peace as only He can bring.

He Gets Us.

Maybe you are concerned that if others knew you and your story and your history, they would push back. And maybe you feel that is how God feels about you too.

Pastor Mark wants us to look at Jesus in a way that we notice the way He approached those He encountered when He lived in our world. The truth is… He gets us. He really does. And He is in love with you.

Maybe you saw these words in an interesting footwashing ad during the Superbowl. You are invited to explore the story of Jesus and consider His way of unconditional love, grace, and forgiveness of others. The series will run through the summer Sundays.

Work Day

12 volunteers completed many tasks: The kitchen has been cleaned, window well weeds pulled, commons & sanctuary carpet spots removed and shampooed, sanctuary dusted, office ceiling tiles repaired.

Other tasks are plentiful in the blessing of a building that we have.

Join in the fun with others.

Upcoming work day: Tuesday 8/6 starting at 5:30pm

Come and go as you need to. Let us know if you are coming below. Pastor Mark is coordinating so text him your questions: 612-799-0512.

Tuesday will be a night to prep / and lay more of the new carpet squares downstairs in the hallway. There is a little demo left in the hallway near the gym; some touch up painting needs to be done; vinyl cove molding needs to be cut to length and attached. There are also some ceiling tiles to be installed where we had some water damage.

Feedback

We value your feedback and are eager to hear from you! Whether you are a member of our church community or a part of our early childhood center, your insights are important to us. Please share your thoughts on what we are doing well and any suggestions for areas where we can improve. Your input helps us to continually enhance our programs and services to better meet families at the intersection of faith and real life.

The Chosen

The Chosen is a Christian historical drama series about the life and ministry of Jesus and the different people who met and followed or interacted with Him. If you want to experience Jesus in a whole new personable way, you will want to join us! Watch preview here. We are wrapping up season 3 today. The long-awaited 4th season will begin this morning (Sunday) and on Wednesday evening!

Each week we watch an episode with popcorn, then enjoy a light meal during an intermission followed by another episode (approximately 2hrs + 15 min. in total) Choose between two showings:

Sunday Mornings at 11:00am
Wednesday Evenings at 6:00pm

Join us on Sunday for BBQ chicken wings, mac & cheese, and Ceasar salad.

You helped put Scriptures in many hands!

More gifts were received and the total response from YOU was $708. Vince was so appreciative of our generosity. That will further the efforts of the Gideons to share God’s Word in our community. The Twin Cities Bible Blitz is October 6-10 -- an effort to distribute 30,000 Bibles in St. Paul, Minneapolis, and suburbs.

Mark 16:15 "And He said unto them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to all of creation.”

Tactics

The men have launched a new book study and discussion around a game plan for discussing our Christian convictions. Do you remember Colombo - that wacky police detective who asked questions to solve crimes? He is used as an example of who we can ask interested questions to learn people’s stories.

So many of us want to share our faith, but don’t know how to go about and certainly don’t want to offend our friends. Good news! It doesn’t have to be that way. Join us and discover how. We have a new book waiting for you. Just ask! We read chapters and then gather to watch a video by the author and then discuss and apply what we hear.

Your Generosity Journey

There are crucial milestones as you grow in faith: worship; quiet time in the Bible and prayer; small groups; volunteering; and generosity! Yes, giving is part of the way God grows your faith. It is about trusting Him to provide for all your needs - and the joy of entering the journey of supporting others as Jesus demonstrated.

Giving of your energy is a wonderful way to impact others; providing donations of food and other items makes a difference in other’s lives; and top that off with financial generosity and you will see incredible blessings.

There are many ways to give financially. We call it an offering because we are offering ourselves for God’s bigger purposes. What an adventure. We’d like to help you along the way. Check out the options on the website by clicking the button below. And if we can provide assistance or answer questions, but sure to let us know at info@stpetersedina.org.

Together we meet families at the intersection of faith and real life.

Help Your Neighbors

Thousands of students in the Bloomington, Richfield, and Edina school districts need help filling their backpacks this fall. Join us in supporting their academic success by making sure they have all the supplies they need for the year! We will be collecting donations for traditional school supplies like spiral notebooks, crayons, and washable markers as well as larger items like backpacks or wireless headphones/earbuds.

Please consider bringing items or a financial donation to support our back to school sharing! A yellow school bus was created by the “Mighty Monkey” classroom and their teacher, Ms Emily. Please drop off items in the school bus through August 15 when they will be delivered to children in our community.

Meet a Need

This week your donations through the Family Care Ministry provided housing stability for a young man facing a disability. If you could have seen his joy when he walked out the St. Peter’s door with a check written to his landlord for $200. He knew he would not incur a late feel for not having full rent on the 1st. This is just one story of care you provide.

Thank you for caring and sharing with those in need.

The Treat Table is Empty!

But you can change that. Every Sunday someone supplies treats to share with fellow worshippers. A schedule has been created for the next three months and there are some openings. You are invited to supply some goodies. Store bought, lovingly baked, home grown - the possibilities are endless. Dates are open as soon as next Sunday. Sign up on the clipboard near the coffee.

Smiles are provided, and we will make the Caribou Coffee, and put out some tea bags, water bottles and juice boxes. Napkins and little plates are in the cabinet along with plastic forks and spoons if needed.

For those who like to carry your own water bottle, fill yours up at the refrigerated bottle of spring water sourced from Wisconsin!
