It is about our shalom, our wellness with God. and to We are to lead a life worthy of the calling to which we are called. To live with the identity of a Child of God. Ephesians 4:22 "...and put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."

Epiphany Reading
Matthew 2:1-11 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
“‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’”
Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
O Morning Star How Fair and Bright
O Morning Star how fair and bright
You shine with God's own truth and light
Aglow with grace and mercy

All victorious, rich in blessing

Come heavenly bridegroom Light divine
And deep within our hearts now shine
There light a flame undying
In Your on body let us be
As living branches of a tree
Your life our lives supplying
Now though dailyEarths deep sadness
May perplex us and distress us
Yet with heavenly joy You bless us
Lord when You look on us in love
At once there falls from God above
A ray of purest pleasure
Your Word and Spirit flesh and blood
Refresh our souls with heavenly food
You are our dearest treasure
Let Your mercy warm and cheer us
Oh draw near us for You teach us
God's own love through You has reached us
Almighty Father in your Son
You loved us when not yet begun
Was this old earths foundation
Your Son has ransomed us in love
To live in Him here and above
This is Your great salvation
Alleluia, Christ the living
To us giving life forever
Keeps us Yours and fails us never
Scripture Reading
Ephesians 4:22-24 When you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Message: Identity
No Longer Slaves
You unravel me with a melody
You surround me with a song
Of deliverance from my enemies
Till all my fears are gone
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
From my Mother's womb
You have chosen me
Love has called my name
I've been born again
Into Your family
Your blood flows through my veins
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
You split the sea so I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me so I could stand and sing
I am a child of God
You split the sea so I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me so I could stand and sing
I am a child of God
I am a child of God
I am a child of God
I am a child of God
Prayer
Confession and Absolution
Pastor: Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.” (Matthew 2:7-8) Herod did not want to worship the Christ, named Jesus. Herod sinned with false words in his harmful thoughts and intentions. Yet we do the same. Let us take the time to confess our sins to the Lord.
All: Heavenly Father, our lives are filled with sin, for which we are truly sorry. We fail to seek Your direction. We fail to follow Your Word. Many times our thoughts and intentions have been hurtful and selfish. For all our sins – we ask forgiveness in the name of Jesus.
Pastor: The Child was named Jesus because He would save His people from their sins. As you worship today, receive the tremendous gifts of Word and Sacrament from God Himself. Be forgiven and comprehend your salvation through His blood. After receiving this news from the One, True King, we can journey on, overjoyed by His presence and grace.
Words of Institution
Pastor: The Magi came bearing gifts for the Christ Child. Little did they realize that the Christ Child had come to bring them gifts from heaven. Today, we have come to worship the Lord with our gifts, unaware of how graciously the Lord is pouring out His gifts on you.
All: He comes to us again now, through this Holy Meal, giving us His presence, strength for our faith, and forgiveness for our sins.
Communion
The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod holds the Biblical teaching that in Communion we receive the true body and blood of Jesus Christ with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the Biblical teaching of the real presence of the Christ in this meal and grace through faith in Christ, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please join with the fellowship of disciples in Holy Communion.
“Everyone should examine themselves first, and then eat the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29)
The Lord’s Prayer
People: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
Ephesians 4:3-6 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Who You Say I Am
Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
Free at last He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
