Greeting

Many are familiar with the Hebrew word shalom. Shalom means “peace” in English. But beyond that simple definition, what is the true meaning of shalom? The common definition of peace is — the absence of conflict — but in Hebrew it means so much more. Jesus wants you to have shalom as you enter the New Year.

Pastor: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

The Peace of God

Pastor: You will keep in perfect peace those who put their trust in You,
People: all whose thoughts are fixed on You. Isaiah 26:3

The Peace of God

Pastor: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
People: will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Matthew 10:11-14  Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. As you enter the home, give it your greeting. If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.


STP Kids Dismissal

STP Kids is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!

Shalom is about wholeness and completeness, the full realization of how things ought to be in this world.

To share peace, you have to already possess Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 - For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Micah 5:5 - And he will be our peace

Romans 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

Ephesians 2:14,17-18 - For he himself is our peace…He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit

Colossians 1:19-20 - For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

The Lord’s Prayer

People: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
