Holy Water
God I'm on my knees again
God I'm begging please again
I need You
Oh I need You
Walking down these desert roads
Water for my thirsty soul
I need You
Oh I need You
Your forgiveness
Is like sweet sweet honey on my lips
Like the sound of a symphony to my ears
Like holy water on my skin
Dead man walking slave to sin
I wanna know about being born again
I need You
Oh God I need You
So take me to the riverside
Take me under baptize
I need You
Oh God I need You
Your forgiveness
Is like sweet sweet honey on my lips
Like the sound of a symphony to my ears
Like holy water on my skin
I don't wanna abuse Your grace
God I need it every day
It's the only thing that ever really
Makes me wanna change
I don't wanna abuse Your grace
God I need it every day
It's the only thing that ever really
Makes me wanna change
I don't wanna abuse Your grace
God I need it every day
It's the only thing that ever really
Makes me wanna change
I don't wanna abuse Your grace
God I need it every day
It's the only thing that ever really
Makes me wanna change
Your forgiveness
Is like sweet sweet honey on my lips
Like the sound of a symphony to my ears
Like holy water
Your forgiveness
Is like sweet sweet honey on my lips
Like the sound of a symphony to my ears
Like holy water on my skin
It’s like holy water on my skin
It’s like holy water
Greeting
"Say you're sorry." Does that really work? If an apology is forced, is it real? Sorry is admitting where you were wrong whether that is to a person or to God. It is expressing your regret and your desire for a fresh start. Today we will wrestle with the tough issues of forgiving and being forgiven.
The three words please, sorry, and thanks are the foundation of all healthy relationships. If you want to change your life, change the words you say. Would you come back to hear all of these messages?
Sorry
Pastor: Change your life, it’s not too late
All: God’s personal message: “Come back to me and really mean it! Come fasting and weeping, sorry for your sins!” (Joel 2:12 (MSG)
Pastor: The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking;
All: He rescues those who are humbly sorry for their sins.
Pastor: They do not escape all troubles—they have them too.
All: But the Lord helps them in each and every one. (Psalm 34:18-19 (TLB)
Scripture Reading
Matthew 5:21-24 - “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister, will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell. “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.
STP KIDS Dismissal
STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!
Message: Sorry
Apologizing for what you’ve done wrong opens the door to setting a relationship right.
Matthew 5:21–24 - “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister, will be subject to judgment. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”
Matthew 6:14 - “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 - God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Prayer of Confession
All: Lord God, I am sorry for disobeying You and displeasing You. I am sorry for turning to sin and turning away from You. Please forgive me for my shortcomings. Help me to be obedient and always follow You. For Jesus' sake. Amen.
O Father Who From Heaven Above
Our Father who from heaven above
Has turned toward us the face of love
Bless us Your children With Your name
Its holy wonders now proclaim
Your kingdom and Your will alone
Through us and in us here make known
Give us this day our daily bread
As every life by You is fed
Forgive our sins' enormities
As we forgive our enemies
Let no temptation us betray
Nor evil threaten us we pray
Yours is the kingdom Yours alone
The constant praise before Your throne
All powers and all dominions Lord
Are subject to Your mighty work
All glory Yours by every tongue
Forever let your praise be sung

The Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
James 5:16 - Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
O Come to the Altar
Are you hurting and broken within
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin
Jesus is calling
Have you come to the end of yourself
Do you thirst for a drink from the well
Jesus is calling
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
Leave behind your regrets and mistakes
Come today there's no reason to wait
Jesus is calling
Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes a new life is born
Jesus is calling
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood
Oh what a Savior
Isn't he wonderful
Sing alleluia Christ is risen
Bow down before him
For he is Lord of all
Sing alleluia Christ is risen
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
Bear your cross as you wait for the crown
Tell the world of the treasure you've found
Holy Water
