Greeting & Announcements
Thanks. You and I should say that word all the time. If it is that powerful, why do we not use it as much as we could or should? Because we take things for granted. Thanks. It is a word you can't say, or hear, too often. And when you do, everything looks different.
Thanks
Pastor: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
All: Give thanks to Him and praise His name. (Psalm 100:4)
Pastor: Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! (2 Corinthians 9:15)
All: In everything give thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Pastor: Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. (Psalm 107:8-9)
All: I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonderful deeds. (Psalm 9:1)
Grateful
This is the day that you have made
Whatever comes I won’t complain
For all my hope is in your name
And now your joy awaits my praise
I give thanks for all you have done
And I will sing of your mercy and your love
Your love is unfailing Lord I am grateful
When I was down You brought me out
And set my feet on higher ground
So here I stand You are my God
Your faithfulness my solid rock
I give thanks for all you have done
And I will sing of your mercy and your love
Your love is unfailing Lord I am grateful
I give thanks for all you have done
I won't forget all the battles you have won
Your love is unfailing Lord I am grateful
And as we lift our hands
The heavens open heavens open
So let our lives declare
The love our God has
Spoken over us
And as we lift our hands
The heavens open heavens open
So let our lives declare
The love our God has
Spoken over us
I give thanks for all you have done
And I will sing of your mercy and your love
Your love is unfailing Lord I am grateful
I give thanks for all you have done
I won't forget all the battles you have won
Your love is unfailing Lord I am grateful
Scripture Reading
Matthew 14:15-21 - As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.
STP KIDS Dismissal

Message: Thanks
James 1:17 - Every good and perfect gift comes from God
Exodus 16:2-3 - In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the LORD’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”
Exodus 16:11-14 - The LORD said to Moses, “I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them, ‘At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God.’” That evening quail came and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp. When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor.

YHWH
Now Thank We All Our God
Now thank we all our God
With hearts and hands and voices
Who wondrous things has done
In whom His world rejoices
Who from our mothers arms
Has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love
And still is ours today
O may this bounteous God
Through all our life be near us
With ever joyful hearts
And blessed peace to cheer us
And keep us in His grace
And guide us when perplexed
And free us from all ills
In this world and the next
All praise and thanks to God
The Father now be given
The Son and Him who reigns
With them in highest heaven
The one eternal God
Whom earth and heaven adore
For thus it was is now
And shall be evermore
Confession & Forgiveness
All: I confess, Lord, that I have not always lived by faith, trusting in Your promises, and have missed opportunities to thank and praise You. I have taken Your blessings for granted, and have not always recognized You as the giver behind the gifts I enjoy. Please forgive me, and help me to do better. May thanks be a word I say daily. I ask this for the sake of Jesus Christ, Your Son, my Savior.
Pastor: God forgives you for Jesus’ sake. Thank him for that and see his goodness in every part of your life, every day! Amen.
Communion
The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod holds the Biblical teaching that in Communion we receive the true body and blood of Jesus Christ with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the Biblical teaching of the real presence of the Christ in this meal and grace through faith in Christ, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please join with the fellowship of disciples in Holy Communion.
“Everyone should examine themselves first, and then eat the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29)
The Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
Psalm 107:1 - Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Ever Be
Your love is devoted
Like a ring of solid gold
Like a vow that is tested
Like a covenant of old
Your love is enduring
Through the winter rain
And beyond the horizon
With mercy for today
Faithful You have been
And faithful You will be
You pledge Yourself to me
And it’s why I sing
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
You Father the orphan
Your kindness makes us whole
You shoulder our weakness
And Your strength becomes our own
You’re making me like You
Clothing me in white
Bringing beauty from ashes
For You will have Your bride
Free of all her guilt
And rid of all her shame
And known by her true name
And it’s why I sing
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
You will be praised
You will be praised
With angels and saints
We sing worthy are You Lord
You will be praised
You will be praised
With angels and saints
We sing worthy are You Lord
And it's why I sing
Your praise will ever be on my lips
Ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips
