Greeting
The one-word definition of relational wellbeing is UNITY. Do you get along with your family? Do you share a mission with your church? What do your neighbors know you for? By the same faith, given by the same Spirit, families and churches are brought together to live in communities of peace.
Invocation
Pastor: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
People: Amen.
Pastor: May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus. (Romans 15:5)
Confession
Pastor: Friends in Christ Jesus, in all honesty we must confess that we have not lived together in love, nor have we demonstrated the unity of the Spirit in our midst. Let us confess our sin before God and one another, and seek God’s forgiveness.
(Silence for reflection on God’s Word and for self-examination.)
Pastor: Almighty God,
All: we confess that we have sinned against You and against one another in our thoughts, in our words, and in our actions; we have not always been humble or gentle; we have not always been patient or forgiving with one another. You have called us to be Your children, and we have turned away from You and our brothers and sisters in Christ. Forgive us, we pray, for the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ. Renew us and restore us to the unity of the Spirit and in the bond of peace.
Pastor: What we destroyed by our sin God has restored through His Son. At the command and promise of our Lord Jesus Christ, I, as your pastor, forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. You have been given new life and called to one Lord, one faith, one baptism, to serve the one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. To Him be the glory now and forever!
People: Amen.
Prayer of the Day
Pastor: O God, You have called us by one baptism to one Lord and one faith. Prepare us for works of service that build one another up and glorify You, that the body of Christ may be built up; through the same Jesus Christ, who lives and rules with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father By Whose Name
Our Father by whose Name
All fatherhood is known
Who dost in love proclaim
Each family Thine own
Bless Thou all parents guarding well
With constant love as sentinel
The homes in which Thy people dwell
O Christ Thyself a child
Within an earthly home
With heart still undefiled
Thou didst to manhood come
Our children bless in every place
That they may all behold Thy face
And knowing Thee may grow in grace
O Spirit who dost bind
Our hearts in unity
Who teachest us to find
The love from self set free
In all our hearts such love increase
That every home by this release
May be the dwelling place of peace
Scripture Reading
Ephesians 4:1-5 - As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

Message: Unity
Genesis 2:18 - “It is not good for the man to be alone”
Ephesians 4:1-3 - I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Do relationships in my family and my church reflect the Holy Spirit’s gift of unity through the bond of peace?
Ephesians 4:4-6 - There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Who You Say I Am
Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
Free at last He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
Creed
People: I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God. Begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God. Begotten, not made. Being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified. Who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Prayer
Communion
The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod holds the Biblical teaching that in Communion we receive the true body and blood of Jesus Christ with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the Biblical teaching of the real presence of the Christ in this meal and grace through faith in Christ, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please join with the fellowship of disciples in Holy Communion.
“Everyone should examine themselves first, and then eat the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29)
The Lord’s Prayer
People: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
Psalm 133:1 - How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
House of the Lord
We worship the God who was
We worship the God who is
We worship the God who evermore will be
He opened the prison doors
He parted the raging sea
My God He holds the victory
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
We shout out your praise
We sing to the God who heals
We sing to the God who saves
We sing to the God who always makes a way
'Cause He hung up on that cross
Then He rose up from that grave
My God’s still rolling stones away
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
We were the beggars
Now we’re royalty
We were the prisoners
Now we’re running free
We are forgiven accepted
Redeemed by His grace
Let the house of the Lord sing praise
We were the beggars
Now we’re royalty
We were the prisoners
Now we’re running free
We are forgiven accepted
Redeemed by His grace
Let the house of the Lord sing praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
We shout out your praise
