Greeting
Which is it? Increase OR decrease / Increase AND decrease.
Can you do both at the same time? According to the Bible, yes!
God must increase AND I must decrease. Awareness of God's goodness must increase in my life AND I must decrease in my self-absorption. Jesus needs to become greater AND I need to become less.
How does that happen? A simple prayer: "More of You God."
More of You God
Pastor: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Pastor: It is a simple but powerful prayer...
All: More of You God.
Pastor: We pray that Christ would increase... we pray that we could decrease...
All: More of You God.
Pastor: Scripture teaches us: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and soul, and mind, and all your strength."
All: More of You God.
Pastor: And love your neighbor as yourself.
All: More of You God.
Pastor: As God increases, we decrease and experience peace and contentment. This is our simple but powerful prayer:

Scripture
Luke 3:3-6 - He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all people will see God’s salvation.’”
STP KIDS Dismissal
STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!

John 3:25-26 (TLB) - One day someone began an argument with John’s disciples, telling them that Jesus’ baptism was best. So they came to John and said, “Master, the man you met on the other side of the Jordan River—the one you said was the Messiah—he is baptizing too, and everybody is going over there instead of coming here to us.”
John 3:27-30 (TLB) - John replied, “God in heaven appoints each man’s work. My work is to prepare the way for that man so that everyone will go to him. You yourselves know how plainly I told you that I am not the Messiah. I am here to prepare the way for him—that is all. The crowds will naturally go to the main attraction—the bride will go where the bridegroom is! A bridegroom’s friends rejoice with him. I am the Bridegroom’s friend, and I am filled with joy at his success. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.
He must increase, but I must decrease.

John 3:31-36 (TLB) - “He has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. I am of the earth, and my understanding is limited to the things of earth. He tells what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! Those who believe him discover that God is a fountain of truth. For this one—sent by God—speaks God’s words, for God’s Spirit is upon him without measure or limit. The Father loves this man because he is his Son, and God has given him everything there is. And all who trust him—God’s Son—to save them have eternal life; those who don’t believe and obey him shall never see heaven, but the wrath of God remains upon them.”
He must increase. But I must decrease.
