Warning About Division

STP KIDS Dismissal
STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!
Message: How Did Jesus Handle Hate?
John 15:18-19 - “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”
In the face of hatred and division and conflict, Jesus has equipped us to live differently.
Galatians 5:15-17 - If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. (ESV)
In the face of division, be gentle and humble and show self control.
Matthew 27:14 - But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge—to the great amazement of the governor.
2 Timothy 2:24 - A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. (NLT)
St. Peter’s Biblical Purpose - Meeting families at the intersection of faith and real life
John 15:21-25 - “They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’”
