Greeting & Announcements

Disciple Prayer

Pastor: Christ is calling us as disciples.

All: Lord Jesus, let us follow you faithfully.

Pastor: You will be led into fields of mission and service.

All: Lord Jesus, where you lead us, we will go.

Pastor:: Listen for Christ’s invitation to follow.

All: We are ready to serve the Lord. Amen.

Scripture Reading

Luke 9:22-26 - And he said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.” Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

Not Done Yet

God of the promise
God of the future
You see beginning and end
God of the rescue
God of the breakthrough
How great is Your faithfulness
You're not done yet

No eye has ever seen
No ear has ever heard
No one could ever comprehend
Your word will be enough
Your promise we will trust
Greater things are still ahead

You're not done yet
You're not done yet

God in my seeking
God in my dreaming
You put a song in my soul
God in the working
God I'm believing
You'll do the impossible
You're not done yet

No eye has ever seen
No ear has ever heard
No one could ever comprehend
Your word will be enough
Your promise we will trust

Message: Red Letter Challenge

Matthew 9:37 - [Jesus] said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”

"Many of those outside of Christianity... reject Jesus because they feel rejected by Christians."

Hear His words. And put them into practice

Matthew 7:24-27 - “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Luke 11:28 - “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

5 Principles
1. Being
2. Forgiving
3. Serving
4. Giving
5. Going

Prayer

If you are in need of prayer, we would love the opportunity to pray with you! You can post a prayer on our online prayer wall, or submit a private prayer to our prayer team.

Come Follow Me Said Christ The Lord

Come follow me
Said Christ the Lord
All in My way abiding
Your selfishness
Throw overboard
Obey My call and guiding
Oh bear your crosses and confide
In My example as your guide

I am the light
I light the way
A godly life displaying
I help you walk as in the day
I keep your feet from straying
I am the way
And well I show
How you should journey
Here below

I teach you how
To shun and flee
What harms your
Souls salvation
Your heart from every
Guile to free
From sin and its temptation
I am the refuge of the soul
And lead you to your
Heavenly goal

Then let us follow
Christ our Lord
And take the cross appointed
And firmly clinging
To His word
In suffering be undaunted
For those who bear
The battles strain
The crown of heavenly
Life obtain

Confession & Forgiveness

All: Jesus, help our unbelief. Where we are weak, give us strength; where we falter and hold back, gently bring us forward; where we fail, please forgive us.

Pastor: As the disciples walked with Jesus, follow your Savior who forgives all your sins. Feel the power of the Holy Spirit guiding your path. Christ’s peace goes with you as you follow Him. Know the grace of God which is poured out for you in this meal.

The Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Communion

The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod holds the Biblical teaching that in Communion we receive the true body and blood of Jesus Christ with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the Biblical teaching of the real presence of the Christ in this meal and grace through faith in Christ, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please join with the fellowship of disciples in Holy Communion.

“Everyone should examine themselves first, and then eat the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29)

Blessing

James 1:22 - “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

Cornerstone

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord Lord of all

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord Lord of all

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord Lord of all

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne

Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord Lord of all
