Words To Live By - Found
Welcome!
Today’s word to live by: FOUND
Lost keys; a lost document; lost wallet; a lost child. Whenever something - or someone - is lost, it can be devastating. But the finding, the relief, the celebrating when found - there is nothing quite like that moment!
Thanks for joining us this morning! We’re so glad you’re here with us. If you’re new here and want to find out a bit more about our service, have questions, or want to connect, click the button below.
ORDER OF WORSHIP
The Father’s House
Sometimes on this journey
I get lost in my mistakes
What looks to me like weakness
Is a canvas for Your strength
My story isn't over
My story's just begun
Failure won't define me
'Cause that's what my Father does
Failure won't define me
'Cause that's what my Father does
Ooo lay your burdens down
Ooo here in the Father's house
Check your shame at the door
'Cause it ain't welcome anymore
Ooo you're in the Father's house
Arrival's not the endgame
The journey's where You are
You never wanted perfect
You just wanted my heart
And the story isn't over
If the story isn’t good
Failure's never final
When the Father's in the room
Failure's never final
When the Father's in the room
Ooo lay your burdens down
Ooo here in the Father's house
Check your shame at the door
'Cause it ain't welcome anymore
Ooo you're in the Father's house
Prodigals come home
The helpless find hope
Love is on the move
When the Father's in the room
Prison doors fling wide
The dead come to life
Love is on the move
When the Father's in the room
Miracles take place
The cynical find faith
Love is breaking through
When the Father's in the room
Jericho walls are quaking
Strongholds now are shaking
Love is breaking through
When the Father's in the room
Love is breaking through
When the Father's in the room
Ooo lay your burdens down
Ooo here in the Father's house
Check your shame at the door
'Cause it ain't welcome anymore
Ooo you're in the Father's house
Ooo lay your burdens down
Ooo here in the Father's house
Greeting
Confession
Pastor: Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven…
People: I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity.
Pastor: I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”—
People: And You forgave the guilt of my sin.
Pastor: We confess our sin, that we may receive forgiveness.
People: We have squandered Your blessings, run from Your love, and rebelled against Your plan.
Pastor: Forgive us, we pray,
People: For the sake of Jesus Christ.
Pastor: God has Good News for us today. Though we have run from Him, He receives us back into His loving arms; though we were lost in sin, we have been found in love; though we have sinned, in Christ, we are totally forgiven.
O Come to the Altar
Are you hurting and broken within
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin
Jesus is calling
Have you come to the end of yourself
Do you thirst for a drink from the well
Jesus is calling
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
Leave behind your regrets and mistakes
Come today there's no reason to wait
Jesus is calling
Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes a new life is born
Jesus is calling
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood
Oh what a Savior
Isn't he wonderful
Sing alleluia Christ is risen
Bow down before him
For he is Lord of all
Sing alleluia Christ is risen
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
O come to the altar
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
Bear your cross as you wait for the crown
Tell the world of the treasure you've found

Message: Found
Luke 15:4-7 - “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Luke 15:31-32 - “Son, you are always with me and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”
Revelation 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Prayer
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end. And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Communion
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and glad confidence that, as He says, our Lord gives into our mouths not only bread and wine but His very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with him and with one another. Our Lord invites to His table those who trust His words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us, that they may show forth His death until He comes.
Because those who eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood unworthily do so to their great harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of this congregation and The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the sacrament, are asked first to speak with the pastor. (see 1 Corinthians 11)
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
1 Timothy 6:11-12 - People of God, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called … grace be with you all.
Amazing Grace
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangers toils and snares
I have already come
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home
When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun

Lent Hymn Reflections
You are invited during Lent for a reflective time that will make use of some of the great hymns of the passion: Wednesdays, at 6:00pm. The service is 30 minutes in length and includes a message based on one of the powerful hymns of Lent. Bring your singing voice or your appreciation of the theological poetry found in hymns — or both!
Pastor Led Sunday Bible Class
Every Sunday you are invited to join with fellow worshipers to study the Sunday texts more in depth. Examine the context to see the setting of the story. Be challenged to apply Biblical truth to your life. At 10:30am in the Discipleship Room to the right as you exit the sanctuary. Bring a cup of coffee and pick up a treat to enjoy on your way in. Life Application Bibles are provided for your study. Pastor Dave will guide us through being lost and found today.
Assistance for Ukrainians
We have two opportunities to do something for the people of Ukrain. Through the ULC (Ukraine Lutheran Church) support is provided directly to those in Ukraine. Donate directly through Lutheran Church Charities Ukrainian Relief Fund button above. We now have a partnership with the First Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church in St. Louis Park and their missionary, Todd Carlson, who is helping Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Donate through St. Peter’s giving tools with the Refugee Relief button above, or place a gift in your offering (mark your gift First Ukrainian). God is at work, through His people, to show, as the Apostle Paul states - One Lord, One Faith, One Body and Spirit!
Intersections
They are places where faith and real life meet. Here at St. Peter's, we welcome some short workshops that will prepare you to live out our faith in practical ways. Intersections are brief 15-minute workshops where Pastor Mark will present a brief insight with a few suggestions to help you apply it. They will all be online so there will be no travel. Participate from anywhere. Each Intersection will be live and participatory. 8:00am on the even Saturdays every month (not the odd Saturdays!) Here is the Zoom Link.
