Build Your Kingdom Here
Come set Your rule and reign
In our hearts again
Increase in us we pray
Unveil why we're made
Come set our hearts ablaze with hope
Like wildfire in our very souls
Holy Spirit come invade us now
We are Your church
We need Your power in us
We seek Your kingdom first
We hunger and we thirst
Refuse to waste our lives
For You're our joy and prize
To see the captives' hearts released
The hurt the sick the poor at peace
We lay down our lives
For heaven's cause
We are Your church
We pray revive this earth
Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land
Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here we pray
Unleash Your kingdom's power
Reaching the near and far
No force of hell can stop
Your beauty changing hearts
You made us for much more than this
Awake the kingdom seed in us
Fill us with the strength and love of Christ
We are Your church
We are the hope on earth
Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land

Scripture Reading
Luke 20:9-20 - He went on to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, rented it to some farmers and went away for a long time. At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed. He sent another servant, but that one also they beat and treated shamefully and sent away empty-handed. He sent still a third, and they wounded him and threw him out. “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love; perhaps they will respect him.’ “But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over. ‘This is the heir,’ they said. ‘Let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. “What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others.” When the people heard this, they said, “God forbid!” Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written: “‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’? Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.” The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people. Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be sincere. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said, so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor.

Message: Sent
John 17:18 - "As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world."
1 Peter 3:15 - Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks…
Biblical design of how we are to live
In our work we are not just serving our boss or company but God. (Colossians 3:22-24)
We are to work with all our energy, not half heartedly – because we are serving God. (Colossians 3:23-24)
We are to honor those over us (bosses, government leaders, etc.) (1 Timothy 6:1-2)
Don’t grumble and complain - this even extends to those who are unreasonable (1 Peter 2:18-20. Phillipians 2:14-15)
We are not to gripe or backtalk (Titus 2:9)
Have a Biblical attitude toward money and avoid greed. (1 Timothy 6:6-10. Hebrews 13:5)
We are to be trustworthy – (Titus 2:10, Luke 16:10)
John 20:21-23 - Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
Luke 10:1-3 - After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.
Sending
People: In fervent gratitude for the Savior’s dying love and his blood-bought gift of redemption, we dedicate ourselves to Him with all that we are and have; and in obedience to His call for workers in the harvest fields, we pledge Him our willing service wherever and whenever He has need of us. We consecrate to our Savior our hands to work for Him, our feet to go on His errands, our silver and our gold to extend His Kingdom, our will to do His will, and every power of our life to the great task of bringing the lost and the erring into eternal fellowship with Him. Amen
Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
People: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
John 20:21 - Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
We Praise You O God
We praise You O God our Redeemer Creator
In grateful devotion our tribute we bring
We lay it before You
We kneel and adore You
We bless Your holy name
Glad praises we sing
We worship You God of our fathers and mothers
Through life's storm and tempest our guide You have been
When perils o'er take us
You never forsake us
And with Your help O Lord
Our battles we win
With voices united our praises we offer
Our songs of thanksgiving to You we now raise
Your strong arm will guide us
Our God is beside us
To You our great Redeemer
Forever be praise
St. Peter’s Mission Update
Prayer Requests
“Sent” Jesus was sent into this world (John 3:16) and He sends you into the world as well. That might be frightening. He promised to be with you.
Pray circles around the development of our annual ministry plan. May the Lord give us passion to meet those at the intersection of faith & real life in meaningful ways in the months ahead.
Rejoice in the life of Betty Gaudineer. After struggling with memory loss and other health issues, Betty was welcomed into her heavenly home this week. Pray for Tim and family as they prepare for a graveside funeral in Des Moines. May they be filled with peace and everlasting hope.
Pray for peace in Ukraine - remember those defending their homeland, those displaced, and those who are facing the loss of loved ones, those living in fear.
Pray for Todd Carlson from First Ukrainian Church in St. Louis Park. He took an overnight train to Kyiv and should have arrived this morning in time for worship. May He serve many who feel that they just must return home to put bread on the table and try and survive a war. Pray for the people suffering. Pray also for the pastors and people in Lutheran Churches throughout Ukrain as they serve in Jesus name.
Pray for seniors struggling in poverty, conflict and other crises around the world. Pray for God to equip and guide His global Church to be a light and place of refuge amid violence and chaos.

Donate directly through Lutheran Church Charities Ukrainian Relief Fund button above. We now have a partnership with the First Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church in St. Louis Park and their missionary, Todd Carlson, who is helping Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Donate through St. Peter’s giving tools with the Refugee Relief button above, or place a gift in your offering (mark your gift First Ukrainian). God is at work, through His people, to show, as the Apostle Paul states - One Lord, One Faith, One Body and Spirit!
