Words To Live By - Remember
Welcome!
There is a word that is tucked in the story of the events that morning. The walk to the tomb. The surprise the women would find when they discovered the stone rolled away. The wonder & questions in their minds. The fright. The angels. The announcement. Jesus appearing... alive! But something else happens...
Thanks for joining us this morning! We’re so glad you’re here with us. If you’re new here and want to find out a bit more about our service, have questions, or want to connect, click the button below.
ORDER OF WORSHIP
House of the Lord
We worship the God who was
We worship the God who is
We worship the God who evermore will be
He opened the prison doors
He parted the raging sea
My God He holds the victory
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
We shout out your praise
We sing to the God who heals
We sing to the God who saves
We sing to the God who always makes a way
'Cause He hung up on that cross
Then He rose up from that grave
My God’s still rolling stones away
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
We were the beggars
Now we’re royalty
We were the prisoners
Now we’re running free
We are forgiven accepted
Redeemed by His grace
Let the house of the Lord sing praise
We were the beggars
Now we’re royalty
We were the prisoners
Now we’re running free
We are forgiven accepted
Redeemed by His grace
Let the house of the Lord sing praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
We shout out your praise
See A Victory/What A Beautiful Name
The weapon may be formed but it won't prosper
When the darkness falls it won't prevail
'Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph
My God will never fail
My God will never fail
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You Lord
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You Lord
There's power in the mighty Name of Jesus
Every war He wages He will win
I'm not backing down from any giant
I know how this story ends
I know how this story ends
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You Lord
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You Lord
Death could not hold You
The veil tore before You
You silence the boast of sin and grave
The heavens are roaring
The praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again
You have no rival
You have no equal
Now and forever God You reign
Yours is the kingdom
Yours is the glory
Yours is the Name above all names
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You Lord
I'm gonna see a victory
I'm gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You Lord
Greeting
Easter Creed
People: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. Who sent His Son as my Savior to rise again. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, died on Good Friday, rose again on Easter morning to free me from the curse of sin, the sting of death, and the power of the devil. I believe in the Holy Spirit, who has brought me to faith in the Resurrected Christ; and leads me to share my faith with others; and by whose continuous work in my heart, I am ever led to be steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in the work of my Resurrected Lord. Amen.
Living Hope
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished the end is written
Jesus Christ my living hope
Who could imagine so great a mercy
What heart could fathom such boundless grace
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever
Jesus Christ my living hope
Hallelujah
Praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah
Death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope
Hallelujah
Praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah
Death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
Jesus Yours is the victory
Hallelujah
Praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah
Death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope
Hallelujah
Praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah
Death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope
Jesus Christ my living hope
Oh God You are my living hope
Scripture Reading
Luke 24:1-12 - On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.

Message: Remember
Luke 23:39-43 - One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Remember - “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
Luke 23:42-43 - Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 24:1-8 - On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
Luke 24:6 - He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you…
First Prediction (Luke 9:22) - And he said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”
Second Prediction (Luke 9:43-45) - And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus did, he said to his disciples, “Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you: The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.” But they did not understand what this meant. It was hidden from them, so that they did not grasp it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.
Third Prediction (Luke 18:31-34) - Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. He will be delivered over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him and spit on him; they will flog him and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.” The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
Luke 24:6-8 - Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.
Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
People: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Blessing
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 - Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

Assistance for Ukrainians
We have two opportunities to do something for the people of Ukrain. Through the ULC (Ukraine Lutheran Church) support is provided directly to those in Ukraine. Donate directly through Lutheran Church Charities Ukrainian Relief Fund button above. We now have a partnership with the First Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Church in St. Louis Park and their missionary, Todd Carlson, who is helping Ukrainians in Kyiv. Donate through St. Peter’s giving tools with the Refugee Relief button above, or place a gift in your offering (mark your gift First Ukrainian). God is at work, through His people, to show, as the Apostle Paul states - One Lord, One Faith, One Body and Spirit!
Red Cross Blood Drive
For the 9th time, St. Peter’s & the Veterans Rotary Club that we host are sponsoring another blood drive here in the sanctuary on Thursday, April 28 from 1-7pm. Only about 8 appointments remain. We have had to turn away people at the door. So sign up today here. We also gather clothing, food, and recycle electronics for veterans. Bring those items that day as well.
Mother & Baby Supplies
At the Blood Drive, we have also added a Mother’s Day drive supporting the health of mothers and young children. We are seeking maternity clothes (all sizes and seasons), baby wipes, bath, shampoo, skin care, healing ointment, diapers (sizes 2-5), baby and toddler clothing (sizes 18 months, 2-4T). Donations go to nonprofits assisting women and young children in our communities including deployed families. Bring Items to the boxes near the Welcome Center. We will be collecting through Mother’s Day Weekend.
