He Gets Us - Included

Jesus was radically inclusive. His love movement ran counter to cultural norms and religious expectations of the day. He went out of his way to care for people whom society had rejected – from disabled people, to conquering military oppressors, to prostitutes. He befriended corrupt tax collectors and violent nationalists. He treated women as equals at a time when such behavior was unheard of, and he embraced people in historically oppressed races and ethnic communities. He gets us! Jesus invited all to participate in the love, but not everyone was interested. The powerful and the wealthy were often threatened by Jesus’ movement. After all, many benefited from oppressing the poor, the sick, women, and even certain races that Jesus embraced. So, they didn’t just reject his invitation, they killed him for it. But in spite of their best efforts to silence the movement, Jesus’s message still resonates today: we’re all invited.

Call to Worship for All People

(The Praise Team)

There are people who are blind who see better than people with eyesight.
There are people who are deaf who can hear better than people with good hearing.
Our troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

For it was You who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. (Psalm 139:13-14)

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD. (Psalm 150:6)

Reckless Love

Before I spoke a word You were singing over me
You have been so so good to me
Before I took a breath You breathed Your life in me
You have been so so kind to me

Oh the overwhelming never-ending
Reckless Love of God
Oh it chases me down fights 'til I'm found
Leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn't earn it I don't deserve it
Still You give Yourself away
Oh the overwhelming never-ending
Reckless Love of God

When I was Your foe still Your love fought for me
You have been so so good to me
When I felt no worth You paid it all for me
You have been so so kind to me

Oh the overwhelming never-ending
Reckless Love of God
Oh it chases me down fights 'til I'm found
Leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn't earn it I don't deserve it
Still You give Yourself away
Oh the overwhelming never-ending
Reckless Love of God

There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me
There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me
There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me
There's no shadow You won't light up
Mountain You won't climb up
Coming after me
There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me

Oh the overwhelming never-ending
Reckless Love of God
Oh it chases me down fights 'til I'm found
Leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn't earn it I don't deserve it
Still You give Yourself away
Oh the overwhelming never-ending
Reckless Love of God

Scripture Reading

(Rachel Moquist)

Luke 14:1,12-14 - One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched…Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

Who Did Jesus Invite? - a True Story of Being Included

(Chris, Kristin, Ailee & Rachel Moquist)

Video: Unconditional - a True Story of Pure Love

Today Your Mercy Calls Us

Today Your gate is open
And all who enter in
Shall find a Father’s welcome
And pardon for their sin
The past shall be forgotten
A present joy be given
A future grace be promised
A glorious crown in heaven

Today our Father calls us
His Holy Spirit waits
His blessed angels gather
Around the heavenly gates
No question will be asked us
How often we have come
Although we oft have wandered
It is our Fathers home

O all embracing Mercy
O ever open Door
What should we do without You
When heart and eye run o'er
When all things seem against us
To drive us to despair
We know one gate is open
One ear will hear our prayer

The Lord’s Prayer

(Ailee Moquist)

All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Blessing

(Ailee Moquist)

Luke 14:21-23 - “Go out quickly…and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame…so that my house will be full.”

Who You Say I Am

Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am

Free at last He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am

I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
