Greeting and Announcements

Precious In His Sight

Pastor: In Genesis we read: "God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them." (Genesis 1:27)

All: All creation is precious in His sight!

Pastor: God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. (Genesis 1:31)

All: We are all precious in His sight.

Pastor: Since God created everything, we believe that all life is sacred, every human being has value and deserves dignity regardless of cognitive processing, verbal communication, behavioral struggles, or physical ability.

All: Each person is flawlessly created in the image of God. Each child is precious in His sight.

Pastor: How joyful we are as we adore You, God of glory, Lord of love.

Joyful Joyful We Adore You

Joyful joyful we adore You
God of glory Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before You
Opening to the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light of day

All Your works with joy surround You
Earth and heaven reflect Your rays
Stars and angels sing around You
Center of unbroken praise
Field and forest vale and mountain
Flowery meadow flashing sea
Chanting bird and flowing fountain
Praising You eternally

Always giving and forgiving
Ever blessing ever blest
Wellspring of the joy of living
Ocean depth of happy rest
Loving Father Christ our Brother
Let Your light upon us shine
Teach us how to love each other
Lift us to the joy divine

Mortals join the mighty chorus
Which the morning stars began
God's own love is reigning o'er us
Joining people hand in hand
Ever singing march we onward
Victors in the midst of strife
Joyful music leads us sunward
In the triumph song of life

Scripture Reading

Psalm 139:13-16 - For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

No Longer Slaves

You unravel me with a melody
You surround me with a song
Of deliverance from my enemies
Till all my fears are gone

I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God

From my Mother's womb
You have chosen me
Love has called my name
I've been born again
Into Your family
Your blood flows through my veins

I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God

Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

You split the sea so I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me so I could stand and sing
I am a child of God
You split the sea so I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me so I could stand and sing
I am a child of God

I am a child of God
I am a child of God
I am a child of God

STP KIDS Dismissal

STP KIDS is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!

Message: Precious In His Sight

Psalm 139:13-14 - For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

What do you have a harder time truly believing: that you are an intricately woven gift to this world, or that everyone you meet is?

Psalm 139:15-16 - My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

John 1:2-3 - He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

Prayer

Theme Video

Children of the Heavenly Father

Children of the heavenly Father
Safely in His bosom gather
Nestling bird nor star in heaven
Such a refuge e’er was given

God His own doth tend and nourish
In His holy courts they flourish
From all evil things He spares them
In His mighty arms He bears them

Neither life nor death shall ever
From the Lord His children sever
Unto them His grace He showeth
And their sorrows all He knoweth

Though He giveth or He taketh
God His children ne’er forsaketh
His the loving purpose solely
To preserve them pure and holy

Lo their very hairs He numbers
And no daily care encumbers
They that share His every blessing
And His help in woes distressing

Praise the Lord in joyful numbers
Your protector never slumbers
At the will of your defender
Every foeman must surrender

Mission Partnership

Chris Moquist - Unlabeled Theater Company

Action Step

Here at St. Peter’s we are starting ministry partnerships to serve those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  We are inviting the Unlabeled Theatre Company to provide performing and vocational opportunities for people with disabilities. We need your prayer and invite you to pray for the efforts and the families the Spirit has prepared for us to reach in prayer. Below is a prayer card that you can download. Even to pray 1-2 minutes would proclaim to the Lord that we are ready to care for those who are “Precious in His Sight”.

The Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Blessing

Luke 14:21, 23 - “Go out quickly… and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame… so that my house will be full.”

Who You Say I Am

Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am

Free at last He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am

I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am

Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
