Confession & Forgiveness
Pastor: Friends in Christ, our Lord has promised that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
All: We follow a Lord and Master who was called “a friend of sinners.”
Pastor: As His friends He calls us to genuine repentance, to change how we think, what we say, and what we do. In the light of Christ’s perfect love, do you recognize your own failure to live as God wants you to live?
All: I do.
Pastor: Do you see that you have often failed to do what God commands and that you have often done what God forbids?
All: I do.
Pastor: Is it your desire to live in closer fellowship with God, to turn from your sin, and to receive God’s grace and strength to do what pleases Him?
All: This is my sincere desire.
Pastor: Then as your friend in Christ and in the name and stead of Jesus Christ, Friend of sinners, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Receive – with the forgiveness of sins – the power of the Holy Spirit to live as God’s forgiven people.

Scripture Reading
Ephesians 4:7-12 - But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.” (What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
STP Kids Dismissal
STP Kids is the Children’s Ministry at St. Peter’s Edina, designed for all children from 6 months to 10 years old (Grade 5). Older children are welcome to participate as helpers. Our vision is to partner with parents in raising up a generation of children that will seek their God-given Kingdom mission and impact their world for Jesus!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 - Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.

Nicene Creed

Communion
The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod holds the Biblical teaching that in Communion we receive the true body and blood of Jesus Christ with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the Biblical teaching of the real presence of the Christ in this meal and grace through faith in Christ, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please join with the fellowship of disciples in Holy Communion.
“Everyone should examine themselves first, and then eat the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29)
The Lord’s Prayer
All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
